Our Process
At our art classes children are encouraged to explore a wide range of art activities providing children opportunities to discover various materials and processes whilst developing their creativity in a fun environment.
Art Classes
Our art classes focus on developing fine motor skills throughout various mediums so children will be cutting, pasting, painting, drawing, building with clay, using and caring for art materials throughout the lessons.
Each lesson is guided and will often have a theme, technique or story attached to it. During classes we celebrate child led learning so enjoying the process and the making is what we value rather than only focusing on the finished product. We want children to build their confidence and independence whilst discovering and manipulating art materials.
Children will approach tools, materials and techniques at their own pace.
Children will also learn about various subjects throughout the lessons as we explore a wide range of themes such as natural habitats, landscapes, oceans, seasons, special occasion events like Christmas or even space, fairies, shapes, food, animals, people, culture and much more.
Our home studio offers children a safe, homely environment feel. We value connection between children and families and therefore offer small size classes only. During classes, children are encouraged to give everything a go and to be curious.
Our classes tend to follow a standard format. We start with a creative game, warm up activity or a story, discover the medium of the day and then create a main art project. There is also other activities setup for children to explore.
We encourage creativity using recycled material whenever possible alongside traditional art materials. By reusing we’re not only helping our planet but also creating wonderful re-purposed art. We will often talk about our contribution to the world.
Our art classes include all materials.
We provide aprons but suggest children wear casual clothes that can get messy. A water bottle is also recommended.
